The shoulder joints can be affected by loss of cartilage and/or from a ruptured tendon (like the infamous rotator cuff) as we as due to cases of inflammation and bursitis. Once we have detected the level of rupture and/or loss of cartilage (via MRI) we would usually perform a stem cell transplant. In less severe cases of bursitis or tendonitis, we usually would use a PRP treatment. In order to strategically inject the exact affected area the procedure id always guided by either an ultrasound and/or fluoroscopic device.
