Regenerative Treatment for Hair Loss and Restoration
Stem cell therapy and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy are two emerging treatments for hair loss that aim to promote hair growth by stimulating the growth of hair follicles and improving blood flow to the scalp.
Premature hair loss may cause a decrease in self-esteem and self-confidence. Consequently, there is a growing interest in innovative technology and science that helps not only to prevent excessive hair loss, but also regenerates healthy hair follicles and restores hair growth.
In the past, the only limited options for hair loss prevention have been mostly the use of topical products, such as Rogaine or Minoxidil and even the use of a low-level laser light shown to stimulate hair follicles.
However, at Miami Stem Cell we have new and exciting options to treat baldness using the patient’s own PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), stem cell or even microneedling with exosomes.
These amazing treatments use the body’s own natural power to self-repair, restore and regenerate aging tissues, tissue damage, as well as a myriad of other disorders, including hair loss related conditions and even alopecia.
Over the last decade, we have treated thousands of patients at our Miami institute, validating several published clinical studies indicating that using regenerative medicine can help restore hair follicles, prevent hair loss, and promote hair growth by significantly increasing the body’s own regenerative potential.

Stem Cell Therapy
Stem cell treatment for hair loss involves injecting stem cells into the scalp, which helps to promote the growth of new hair follicles. Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that have the ability to develop into various types of cells in the body.
The process is meticulous, with injections beginning across the scalp, approximately at every half inch over the area of thinning hair and typically, the entire procedure takes less than an hour to complete and local anesthesia is administered. When stem cells are injected into the scalp, they can help to stimulate the growth of new hair follicles, which can lead to the regrowth of hair.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
PRP therapy involves injecting platelet-rich plasma, a concentration of platelets from the patient’s own blood, into the scalp. Platelets contain growth factors that can help to promote hair growth and improve the overall health of the scalp.
Not all PRPs are the same and you should look for a clinic that validates the potency of its PRP. For therapeutic benefit, a dose of over 1 billion platelets per mL is required i.e., the PRP is concentrated 7x-10x higher compared to whole blood.
PRP is a three-step medical treatment in which a person’s blood is drawn, concentrated, and then injected into the scalp. The injections trigger natural hair growth and maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle and increasing the thickness of the hair shaft.
The process is meticulous, with injections beginning across the scalp, approximately at every half inch over the area of thinning hair and typically, the entire procedure takes less than an hour to complete and local anesthesia is administered. Ultimately, when compared to other more traditional hair loss non-surgical methods, we have extensive proof that validates the fact our medical grade PRP treatments provide tremendous results to help both men and women concerned about preventing future hair loss and restoring proper hair growth.
PRP is particularly effective at treating male pattern baldness, both by preventing hair loss and by promoting new hair growth, while it can also aid in the stimulation of hair growth even after hair transplants. We recommend having a series of three-to-five sessions done to get the most out of the procedure, with annual maintenance treatments thereafter to maintain the results, but even one visit can make a difference.
Exosomes therapy with microneedling
When stem cell or PRP therapy is combined with microneedling and exosomes, the benefits of both treatments are enhanced. The tiny punctures created during microneedling can help to increase the absorption of the exosomes into the scalp, maximizing their benefits. Additionally, the growth factors and other proteins in the PRP can further stimulate hair growth and improve the overall health of the scalp.
The combination of stem cell or PRP therapy with microneedling and exosomes is a minimally invasive and safe treatment for hair loss. It can help to promote the growth of new hair follicles, increase hair density, and improve the overall appearance and health of the scalp. However, it is important to note that results may vary from person to person, and multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results.
Both stem cell treatment or PRP combined with exosomes microneedling have shown promising results in treating hair loss. In clinical studies, patients who underwent these treatments experienced significant improvements in hair density and thickness.
Additionally, these treatments are safe and have few side effects. It is important to keep in mind that results may vary from person to person, and multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results.

What to expect:
During any regenerative procedure, you may experience minor discomfort or pain, but these symptoms can be managed with local anesthesia, numbing cream and the use of the “laughing gas”. The treatment process itself is typically quick and minimally invasive, with most procedures taking less than an hour to complete.
After the treatment, you may experience some mild swelling, redness, or tenderness in the treated area, but these symptoms usually resolve within a few days. In some cases, patients may experience temporary hair shedding or a mild increase in hair loss before new hair growth occurs. However, this is a normal part of the hair growth cycle and should not be a cause for concern.
More about how stem cell treatments work
- Promoting tissue regeneration: Stem cells have the ability to develop into different types of cells in the body, including spine discs, muscle, bone, and cartilage cells. By injecting stem cells into the damaged area, they can help promote tissue regeneration and repair damaged tissues.
- Reducing inflammation: Chronic inflammation in the area contributes to pain and may require surgical intervention. Stem cells have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce inflammation and alleviate pain.
- Stimulating natural healing: Stem cells can stimulate the body’s natural healing process by releasing growth factors and other proteins that help repair damaged tissues.
- Minimally invasive procedure: Stem cell treatments are typically performed on an outpatient basis and involve a minimally invasive injection procedure. This means less downtime and a quicker recovery period compared to traditional back surgery.
- Customizable treatment: Stem cell treatments can be customized to each patient’s individual needs and can target specific areas, making them a more precise and targeted treatment option.
It is important to note that not all cases of tendon, ligament, cartilage pain and lesions can be treated with stem cell treatments and that each case is unique. It is important to consult with us to determine if stem cell treatment is a viable option for your specific case.
How does it work?
During the painless procedure, a small amount of bone marrow is typically taken from the patient’s hip bone using a needle. The bone marrow is then processed to isolate the stem cells, which are then injected into the affected area using imaging guidance to ensure accurate placement.
While it may not provide immediate pain relief, it provides long-term benefits and improves overall function and quality of life. If you are considering this treatment option, it is important to book your FREE consultation with us to determine if it is right for you.
