How can Stem Cells Help in the Fight Against Coronavirus?
Stem cell treatment could be a way forward in treating the coronavirus. The issue with coronavirus is that it puts massive strain on several systems in the body, particularly the respiratory system. Your body will put all of its resources into fighting the against the disease and many cells and systems will be damaged. That is part of the reason that coronavirus is so deadly to the elderly and immunocompromised. Their bodies are already frail and weak; coronavirus is able to exploit that. Stem cells will help to revitalize the cells and systems in the body that are being worn out from the coronavirus. They will breath new life into a patient’s body as the stem cells can transform into any necessary cell. Stem cell treatments have been used for the H7N9 avian flu and have shown promise in that case as well.
